Zinnia Kumar fluidly exists in the worlds of art and science. 

Australian model, scientist and advocate. Zinnia is the first Indian to cover Vogue Australia, and the first ecologist to cover an edition of Vogue in 128 years. Zinnia’s fashion portfolio spanning front covers of Vogue India, Vogue Australia, More or Less, Russh, Cap74024, Harper's Bazaar and Porter magazine, to work with premium and luxury brands like Chanel, Dior, Miu Miu, Mugler, Jacquemus, Swarovski and Chopard, appearances on best dressed red carpet lists and features in publications such as Forbes, Time, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue are an impressive culmination of her interwoven dynamic essence in the people, planet and fashion space.

Alongside fashion, Zinnia began her career as a conservation ecologist in the Australian outback working with penguins and birds with organisations such as Birdlife International and the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). Following her passion and curiosity between the interplay of human culture and the environment, she delved into researching the Environment, Human Evolutionary Biology and Business and Sustainability Psychology and is today an alum of University of New South Wales, University College of London and University of Oxford.

Today, Zinnia unify’s her work as a fashion model with science communication and advocacy in press and social media that fearlessly intersects, environmental issues (e.g protection, conservation and sustainability), mental health (e.g eco-anxiety, burnout and living with autism), social belonging and is openly speaks about inclusivity in the fashion world. A highly sought after changemaker for her eloquence, optimism and clarity, among her accomplishments in journalism, research and speaking, Zinnia has delivered keynote addresses at influential forums such as G20, Fashion Institute of Technology, Harvard Medical School, Vogue, Cancer Council, Australasian Evolution Society, Vogue Business Fashion Environment Summit, Design Council UK, Australian Museum, The Australian, Global Fashion Agenda Copenhagen Fashion Summit among others. She puts her multi-hyphenate expertise into action as a sustainability psychologist and inclusion consultant for organisations at her own firm The Dotted Line. The firm aims to make sustainability optimistic, inclusive and social belonging universal.

In her down time she shares her passion for female empowerment as a speaker and community mentor, inspiring women and girls to reach their potential and break gender stereotypes, through empowering engagements at high schools and forums like the Cancer Council and G20. Zinnia connects with people by sharing her personal journey— breaking through socio-economic barriers, dealing with mental health, living with aspergers (autism), not fitting in and her quest for universal belonging. Zinnia continues her deep commitment and passion for the environment as volunteer bird carer for the Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES).
